Can i divide communal gardens with a glasgow council tenant?
hi, my neighbour council tenant and I share a very large back garden, not to mention the front & side.An awful lot of work, as they do not contribute to its up keep. We live in a cottage style flat in Glasgow, I am the downstairs, so officially the front is my garden, our council neighbours live upstairs so officially they have the side. At the rear, its divided into segments...we have a small piece directly in front of house, we share a piece in the middle drying area then we own the piece thats at the very back. While they have a piece that more or less goes the length over at the side.As I am an owner of my property is it possible to divide the rear garden straight up the middle, giving us both 2 equal parts of land that is complete and divided straight up the middle of the garden with a small fence, instead of little segments.Obviously it would make cutting the grass a whole lot easier as our land would be defined properly.Is it possible, and how do we go about it, are there many costings involved? do we need our title deeds, planning permission etc.many thanks
